daddy's visit :)

2 weeks ago, daddy came out to visit for the weekend. it's amazing how fast 2 weeks goes by, and can also seem like months ago at the same time! i was so happy to have him out here again and to be able to just relax, the opposite of last visit! friday evening, we relaxed and went to dinner at a local restaurant and had an early night. saturday was nice and relaxing as well; we got started at about 10 and made our way downtown. we got to see keith while he was working and walked around battery park for a little while. we took a boat tour around the tip of manhattan where we saw ellis island, statue of liberty, south street sea port, all the bridges, brooklyn, new jersey, and a lot of little things along the way. it was a nice to be able to see everything and have a guided tour without having to make a million stops.

saturday night, we had dinner with keith and his dad at a great steak restaurant. sunday morning, we were able to take our time getting around and met keith's mom and step-father for brunch around 1. if you haven't noticed, we did a lot of eating :) that afternoon, we went to see my campus and office. the night ended with watching the rockies game and eating sushi. not a bad weekend at all, but it went way too quickly!! i can't wait for my next visitors!! hope everyone is doing well.

what a busy month!

it seems like there has been something going on every weekend and during each week in the past month! all good things, luckily. to start with, jen and jake came up to nyc to visit for the weekend about 3 weeks ago. we had such a great time! every time i hang out with jen, it makes me want to live close again, but i guess i'll take what i can get :) they arrived on a friday afternoon and we didn't slow down until they left sunday afternoon. friday night we went to a great dinner down in the meat packing district followed by drinks at a hotel that has a great rooftop bar viewing manhattan. it is one of my favorite places to go, it's a little pricey, but well worth it. saturday, i made breakfast here and then we went to the natural history museum. it was a nice day so we walked through the park and stayed outside for a while. after, we all came back here and got ready for dinner at uva. i don't think i can ever get tired of eating there. the food is so good and there is so much to choose from. afterwards, we went downtown to see one of keith's friends at her birthday party and then headed home. sunday was very relaxing with brunch in the morning and then sitting outside at a street fair people watching. as you can imagine, there is some great people watching here.

the following week (9/18/07), ashlyn was born! she is so adorable and doing well. jason and erica are also doing well, but i'm sure they would like to have a little more sleep :) i can't wait to get home and hold her for myself.

the following weekend, we celebrated dave's birthday. we went downtown to a mexican place and celebrated with margaritas, tequila, and cheesecake...strange combination, i know, but it was a great time! we, again, went to the hotel rooftop afterwards because it was such a great day and just relaxed for a while.

and, lastly, but far from least, on the 1st keith and i celebrated our 1 year together. we went to a restaurant in the east village that i've been wanting to try, and had a great dinner. it's amazing how fast a year has gone. i'm such a lucky girl to have found him and i look forward to many more together :) okay, enough mushy stuff.

next weekend, daddy is coming to visit!! i can't wait to have him here for the weekend. now that i've been here for a while, hopefully i'll be able to show him more things and get around a little easier! school and work are going very well. the new position is going to be challenging, but i'm looking forward to it. school is also starting to get underway with exams and papers coming up...they shouldn't have summer break because i get out of practice! hope you all are well, miss you!!!!!
