pictures!

well, the handy man never showed to hang my pot rack, so i thought i'd start with these...i'll post the kitchen as soon as it's finished! i'm also looking at curtains for the living room, so those should be up in the next week or so also. enjoy!

this is my bedroom and "closet" :) i'm elfa's new biggest fan! it was super easy to install and holds (almost) all of my clothes. these aren't the best, but it's really hard to get a good angle in this room.

i promise i'll get pictures posted this week! it's been pretty crazy starting my new job and trying to get all the little things finished around here. i'm almost finished. one more trip to the container store and the handy man is coming on wednesday to hang my pot rack for me, and i'm all set!
my new job is great and is really interesting. i've been going to the eye doctor ever since i can remember, but never really thought about everything that went on while i was there. i'm getting to learn about all the different tests and why they do them and what they show. it's a little scary that they trust me enough to administer these tests! one example is when they test the pressure in your eye by giving a small puff of air when you least expect it. yeah, i have to do that to people now! i haven't done it to a patient yet, i'm a little scared of blinding someone, even though i've been assured that i won't. it's nice to be back on a fixed schedule again and to come home and really relax.
i'm sooooo excited to register for classes next week and go back the following week. off to the container store...i think they know me by name there and at the hardware store...

as i unpack

as i unpack from my big move, there are many emotions coming at the same time. first and foremost, thank you, thank you, thank you to dad and jason!!!! i'm so grateful to both of you for driving all the way out here and spending time with me in my new apartment. i don't know what i'd do without you guys.
as i unpack, there are so many things i haven't seen in a little over a year and there are so many memories that i'm coming across. i actually unpacked a box yesterday that had birthday cards from the age of 12 through 18!! they were great to go through, but i was also reminded of how seldom birthday cards are sent anymore. the funniest thing, and the most special, i've come across while unpacking are my frogs. i had one whole box of nothing but frogs and as i unwrapped them tonight, i couldn't help but laugh and cry about almost all of them. i was reminded of when i got them and who i got them from. they are truly one of my most special possessions because everyone of them came from everyone of you; and i remember when and who i got them from. you can all be sure, there is a little part of you in every inch of this apartment. it makes me miss home a lot some days, but i feel as close you all of as you as ever at the same time.
