happy birthday, mom
there are certain days, events, occasions that make me miss home more than others. the last couple of weeks have been no exception. between my birthday and mom's, i start to feel extremely far away. hope you all know how much i think about you. love you mom! wish i could have been there to give you a big hug. have to do it soon.

I love you, little girl! I miss you very much. I told Lisa on your birthday that it was the first time in 24 years I wasn't able to hug you on your birthday and you seemed so far away. Sure glad we have the cell phones - it would really be awful if I couldn't talk to you! Love you -- mom
