My New Hobby Idea

I have been inspired by the television show, Ace of Cakes to give cake decorating a try. My grandma Linafelter used to decorate cakes for all our family functions. I hope that I inherited some of her talents.
I have sought out the advice of some cake decorating friends, borrowed some books from the library and now I need to give it a try. I need a reason to make a cake. My reason might be practice. I'll post a picture (if it is not too much of a disaster) as soon as I give it a shot.

I took a class at our local Michaels store. They have a wonderful selection of Wilton Cake decorating supplies. They even have a starter kit that you could do on your own before you invest in a lot of tools. The kids love it when I make their special cakes! Remember to have lots of patience!
Carsen's 1st birthday is next Saturday... sounds like a perfect "excuse" to make a cake! Come on over and we can do it together! :)
