I have taught 1st-3rd grades and though the first week of school is always a challenge, there is nothing like the first week of kindergarten. We welcomed 127
kindergartners into our school this week. The majority have never been in a school setting before. You have to teach them how to do everything...how to raise their hands, to sit in a chair, hold a pencil, etc. Then to add to the chaos, something like 20% of them are
Spanish speaking only. I am only assisting the kindergarten teachers and I am exhausted at the end of the day.
So, if you know a kindergarten teacher thank them for what they do. In my opinion, they have one of the hardest jobs out there!
