The tests have been taken and the scores are in but there is still over 2 weeks of school left. Mentally, the teachers and the students are done. I am finding it hard to fill the hours (which can make for a long day). Instead of complaining, I need to look for some engaging end of the year activities. Ideas anyone?

freejordan.org

I am not sure if I expect any of you to check out this site, but I guess my hope is that someone out there may come across Jordan's story and help find some justice in his case.
I grew up with Jordan and his family. We attended the same small baptist church together since we were in elementary school. Jordan was on a full-ride athletic scholarship and was going into the medical field. In 2002 he was accused of performing nonconsenusual oral sex on a women. Currently, Jordan is serving a 10 year sentence.
Taken from the website:
At the sentence hearing Judge Dillard told Jordan:
After reading about this case and learning that there is no link between Jordan's DNA and this girl, it is absolutely absurd to me that Jordan is in jail. I could go on, but if you are at all interested, please visit his website.

"...it's very obvious that you're very intelligent, remarkably mature, considering in comparing to the other people I see in this courtroom. You actually have a bright future before you...I'm not of the opinion that you are a sexual predator, and if i had my choice, you would not be going to prison...I don't know that you even need very much help, because I view this as something that was done in a moment of weakness and lack of thought that happens hundreds or thousands of times a year in a college community."
Then he sentenced Jordan to 10 years in prison. After reading about this case and learning that there is no link between Jordan's DNA and this girl, it is absolutely absurd to me that Jordan is in jail. I could go on, but if you are at all interested, please visit his website.

Sunny Weekends
by Erica
I just love late spring and summer weather. Summer is by far my favorite season. Saturday morning I woke up early and took the dogs for a walk. I loved breathing in the warm sunshine air. I was highly motivated to get the weeds pulled and the yard looking nice. I decided that our new patio needed some fresh potted flowers. Planting flowers is something I have never attempted before. I went out and found some pots (which turned out to match our patio perfectly) and bought 2 kinds of flowers.
Sunday was a busy day. Jason surprised me with a very sweet 1st Mothers Day gift. We celebrated the day with Carol, Grannie and Ted by meeting them for lunch in Denver. Then we came back home for some more yard work and time outside. Jason spent a few hours pruning the trees and bushes. Cody enjoyed chewing on the fallen tree branches and draging them around the yard. I can't wait for more of these kinds of weekends.

Ready for Inspection
by Erica
Walls are up.
Electricity is finished.
The bathtub is in-and works!
The HVAC is finished.
We are ready for the first inspection. Then, the plea goes out for help with hanging the drywall. I am not sure I should be holding up heavy drywall.
I am so proud of my talented husband. He is so handy and intelligent. I couldn't ask for more.
