Moab

Jason and I just came back from spending a little vacation time in Moab. The scenery was breath-taking. We even had a couple days of 70 degree weather (much unlike home right now where it is snowing!) There is so much to do there. We just barely scratched the surface. We hiked just about 10-12 miles over a couple of days. Next time we will have to take in some biking, camping or even some rafting. The Eve of Spring Break

Ah, I can almost taste the freedom that is looming near.
Soon I will enter 10 days of relaxation.
Soon I can sleep in and not be in a rush to get to work.
Soon, I will be able to go on vacation with my husband.

Yes, I am excited!

Enter Trimester #2

Phew, hopefully the hardest phase of pregnancy is behind me. We'll see. As you are going through it, it doesn't seem that bad. Looking back, I am glad to know that better days are ahead.

I guess that I should back up a few months to January 14th. I took a pregnancy test between commercials of our favorite show, The Apprentice. The test said "pregnant". I kept the test on the bathroom counter for the next couple of days to remind myself that this was real.

4 weeks later we headed to the doctor and saw the first picture of our baby and the heart that was beating rapidly. It was a relief to know that there actually was a baby inside of me.
Another month later we headed to our appointment to listen to the heart beat for the first time. He or she has a strong heartbeat the doctor says.

This past week has been filled with sharing our news with friends and family members. What an exciting time.

I have been journaling my thoughts and experiences on our baby blog. As of right now it is password protected. I am not sure why--just seems like it should be. If you would like to view it, let me know and I will add you.

Sick.

Today was the first day that I had to call in sick to work without having planned for a sub. Thankfully, I was able to get a wonderful substitute teacher at the last minute. When you are getting sick in the middle of writing lesson plans, it is a relief to know that someone is in your classroom who knows what she is doing.

When I got to work on Monday, I had a Dr. note from one student who is out all week with Influenza A-a highly contagious form of the flu. Another student has been out all week with the flu and strep.

So, last night was rough. I have been able to catch up on my sleep this morning. I just got up and I was actually hungry. Hopefully, this will pass soon.

A major event has happened in the life of my best friend, Amy and her husband Keith. Carsen Keith was born on Thursday, March, 1st.
Also, my college roommate, Julie welcomed their first child into the world on Monday evening. They are the proud parents of Levi Grand.

I can't wait to see and hold your little boys!
