One of Those Days

by Jason

Do you ever have one of "those days?" You know, the kind where you are continually caught off-guard by how much you love someone? Where even just the thought of them distracts you from what you are supposed to be doing? And you end up lost in that thought, not wanting to let it go as if that feeling was a blanket that you were wrapped up in?

Well, it's "one of those days...."

Love ya, babe. I hope that you have a great day today.

New Walking Friends

by Erica

Picture this:

Me (short adult female), German Shepherd (100 plus pounds), Rotweiler (130 plus pounds), Jack Russell (10 pounds) and my friend Stephanie (average adult female) walking down the sidewalk with our dogs on leashes.

I am sure we were a sight!

A Relaxing Morning

by Erica

What a relaxing morning. Our plans were canceled this morning so we were able to sleep in until 10:00. I love Saturday mornings when we don't have to get out of bed for anything. We woke up to snow which has since melted, music is playing softly in the background, I have finished my first cup of coffee, spent time in The Word, read my Cedarville Inspire Magazine and now I am thinking about what to do next.

Snow One Day, Gone the Next

by Erica

This is what our backyard looked like last night. Tonight-no snow. Yeah for the first snowfall of the season!

Steam Coming Out Your Car Can't Be Good

by Erica

My sister came out for a visit this weekend. We had a few 'Kodak Moments' but never had the camera with us.

Well, we had the perfect picture oppertunity today in Boulder. We would have taken a picture, but the camera was left in my car which was on the tow truck. As we arrived in the lower level of the parking garage we quickly became aware that it was my car that smelled really bad(and I tried to blame it on the Audi in front of me) and steam was coming out of the hood. My first reaction-PANIC-my car is going to explode. Was it really going to explode? No. Second thought-why did this have to happen in a parking garage? How is the world is a tow truck going to get down here? After direction from Jason, we called for a tow truck. We were 'stranded' on Pearl Street in Boulder. Not too bad of a place to get stuck. We just shopped until they got there.

The Patherfind will be okay. It just needs a new radiator. I am thankful that the car was drivable and we were able to get out of the garage on our own. I was thankful that my sister was with me for my first ride in a tow truck! I am also thankful to have friends who let me borrow their extra car-thanks Steve and Pauline!

Yeah!

Denver Post: "9 schools improve, get off list, as 22 join ranks"

A moment of happiness from the proud teacher. Our school is one of 9 in the state that showed significant academic improvement and were removed from the Title 1 School Improvement list. This is a pretty big feat for our school.

This week I was reassured that as hard as it is working in a Title 1 school, it sure is rewarding. Plus, who else receives about 50 hugs in one day?

Snow?

by Erica

Really? Can it to be true? We are supposed to get snow tonight!

Hard to believe that it was in the high 70's on Saturday.

Nebraska

by Erica

Jason and I drove to Lincoln on Wednesday night for his eye appointment on Thursday. They were going to do a follow up surgery from when he had lasik awhile back. However, they wanted to update their laser before they did this next surgery. The trip was not in vain though. We were able to spend time with my grandparents, see my cousin who just had her baby and stay with my aunt. And we are dealing with Jason's eyes. Not something to take lightly. I guess having a conservative doctor in this case is a good thing.

It felt good to have a nice 4 day weekend. I feel like I have gone non-stop since the end of August with school related work. It was nice to not have to think about writing lesson plans.

Now, Jason and I are making plans to finish the basement....more updates on that later.
