Big News!

After months of searching in various communities, Jason and I found our dream home only blocks from where we live now. We signed the contract yesterday. Depending on the weather, we should be in our new home by the end of July/early August.
We were able to removed the 'lot 10 available' sticker and replace it with a 'sold' sticker. Then we went up the the lot where our home will be built. Stayed tuned to see the house in various stages throughout the next few months!

Wow- we are so excited for you guys! Can't wait to hear more about it- what fun to build your own house!!
Congrats, guys! Good luck with all the house planning! My advice - visit the construction site often, and plan where they put the outlets and switches early.

You will not remember this, but in 1983 when we built our house in Holdrege, our whole Young Adult group (we fit in that age range then) came to the bare lot after church for a ground breaking ceremony. There were probably 30-40 people. They brought shovels and Tim Moomey read scripture and prayed. Karisa, who was seven at the time, cried loudly the whole time for some reason. There were neighbors in the area who watched out their windows. We heard later the rumor was that someone was building a church instead of a house.
