Pre-Wedding Events

The whole weekend was memorable. So many friends and family member drove in from all around the US. The activites really began on Wednesday when my family flew in from Cincinnati. On Wednesday night our two families got to meet over dinner in Castle Rock. It was great to have them finally meet each other! I believe that everyone had a good time.

On Thursday I joined my family and the Taylor family on a day trip to Estes Park. They were amazed that you could have a snow ball fight in June. I was glad that Julie was able to make it out a few days in advance. That night my best friend, Amy, flew in from MN. We hadn't had a sleep over in ages! Although we were too tired to stay up into the late night hours and chat, it still made me remember the good old days.

On Friday night we had our rehersal. I was amazed at all the people that were there who were apart of our day in some way our another. The rehersal dinner was so much fun. Jason and I chose to have it at the Hibachi Steakhouse. It was entertaining for the kids and for the adults. They would make fire come out of a stack of onions and try to flip pieces of food into people's mouths. After the dinner was done the girls had a sleep-over at the Ludwig's house. Lisa had decorated the basement as if we were at a spa. There were candles, and flowers and curtains put up in each window-well. It was perfect. She is so good to me! We stayed up chatted about all the topics that come up when a group of best friends get together for a reunion. That morning we woke up to a delicious arrangement of food put together by my mother and mother-in-law.

For my bachelorette party on Saturday night, the girls headed down to the Pearl Street Mall in Boulder. There, I was lucky enough to have 'The Horn Guy' pull me out of the crowd and play The Wedding March for me. It was special. I was slightly embarrassed. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner and much loved cheesecake. I felt bad for the families sitting around us when it was time for me to open my gifts that my girls so loving gave me for our honeymoon. Nothing else is going to be said about that.

The wedding day itself goes by way too quickly and you wish that you were able to spend more time with your guests. I am glad that we made this into more of a weekend celebration so that I could spend some valuable time with more people.
